street style

Lately, I've been scavenging the streets finding inspiration from what other people are wearing.  I really like this blog: http://www.hel-looks.com
But i don't think I have the time or effort to create a street style blog as good as the sartorialist or advanced style.
Here are some pictures of people I have taken over the summer. (maybe I should do one for winter?)

tried to get a picture of this amazing grunge-hippie girl, she was too awesome the camera couldn't focus.

there's really nothing else to say you guys.

thats me in the grey shirt in case you didn't recognize me.

I got a new camera for my birthday (which was may 12th) but I'm passing the baccalaureat in a couple of weeks so I've been really busy and haven't had the time to post anything.
This is what I wore today.

longing for sunny days and grassy toes

I've realized you've only seen my face on this blog and thats kind of gross.

My friend recently introduced me to the Sartorialist. And she said what I was wearing today reminded her of some kind of street style. And since I've actually been in a really good mood this week (well, we're only tuesday, but still), I thought I should do a proper blog post.

So here is what I am wearing right now in my bedroom, while my cats are sitting on the computer keyboard. so since i can't really type right now, here are artsy fartsy pictures of me.

I'm wearing navy blue and mustard yellow and i still feel like a little girl in pastels and glitter.

I follow rivers

I hate to have to show you my outfits through photo booth but this is the only way you will not get mad at me for the lack of posts lately. So here is a hodgepodge of what i have been wearing.

DIY wrapping paper

Although my family is a mix of buddhist, jewish, and atheist, I do celebrate christmas. Or "Jól", in icelandic. My dad is icelandic so we celebrate it as he did during his childhood. There are 13 "santas" and every night they come and place a little present in your shoe until it's actually christmas and you get a proper gift. So far, I have a notebook, a pencil, and a chocolate bar. But today's post isn't about how i celebrate the 24th of december. Here's a little DIY on how to impress your family members with this fancy wrapping paper. Oolala.

What you will need:
-18' 24'' of rough news sketch paper (you can find at your local art supplies or craft store)
-something to decorate this paper with (glitter, crayons, marker, stickers, etc. remember: the paper is thin)
-tissue (optional)
-and presents!

Step 1: choose your item of decoration (i chose paint but remember to not put too much water)
Step 2: get creative and design your wrapping paper.
If you have paint, take a tissue and dab it in the paint. then simply press this tissue on the paper gently like a stamp. this will make the paper appear less boring.

Step 3: now you can wrap the paper and you are ready to impress your fellow family members!

Happy Chanukkah, Merry Christmas, Gledileg Jól, And happy 12-12-12.

summertime sadness

Unfortunately I can no longer linger on this feeling that summer is still here. So this is my goodbye.
